A mobile application designed to empower users in reporting and addressing environmental, infrastructure, and service delivery issues. This would enable them to play an active role in community improvement and highlight concerns on a dedicated platform. It was also designed to address the lack of adequate data available to use for analysis to improve decision making by municipalities and experts.

The application Received funding and support from Innovate Durban, and featured in their 2020 Innovation Showcase.
It was Adapted and utilized for a river pollution monitoring and clean-up project by the Duzi UMngeni Conservation Trust
The Rural Mapping and Township Locations Data Platform was developed for Abiri Innovations (Pty) Ltd. The company is focused on addressing challenges to accessibility to services and navigation in rural areas. These are areas that are not well-mapped by platforms such as Google Maps, due to their remoteness and the lack of formal addresses for homes and business.
The platform was developed to allow easy collection of data with a companion mobile app, which featured geolocation tagging and media uploads. It also utilized scripts for easier data manipulation and conversion, when retrieved from cloud storage.
This application was also developed for Abiri Innovations (Pty) Ltd. as part of their suite of mapping products aimed at addressing challenges to rural development.
This application enabled the creation of records of historical landmarks and heritage sites, including graves and monuments. It featured a community blog-like interface to allow users to interact with posts and share further information. Users could also upload images and files, as well as download notices in the form of PDFs.
The Sustainatag platform was developed as one of Sturtium’s first platforms.
This was aimed at creating a central space for information on sustainability-focused projects, products and services. The concept was to create a digital hub for Sustainability in Africa that also considers and engages with similar platforms and adds to their value rather than competing with them.
It featured a database of businesses and non-profits, each with their own page on the website. The data on these included their target industries, details on their impact, as well as competitors and collaborators.
In addition, a simple social media component was built to facilitate engagement and discussion.
The platform received signups from a number of businesses and other organizations to list on the database as well as user sign-ups for the social media component.
